Your Impact

Our team is scaling rapidly, and sourcing exceptional technical talent is critical to our success. We’re hiring a Technical Sourcer to partner closely with our recruiting team and engineering leadership to build strong pipelines for Engineering and Data roles across Handshake AI.

This is a high-impact role focused on talent discovery, proactive outreach, and talent mapping. You’ll play a key part in driving our technical hiring strategy and helping us build a world-class team of builders and innovators.

Your Role

Technical Pipeline Generation:
Own top-of-funnel pipeline for high-priority technical roles across engineering, infrastructure, ML, data science, and data engineering. Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines through proactive sourcing.

Outbound Sourcing & Talent Mapping:
Identify and engage high-caliber technical talent via LinkedIn, GitHub, Stack Overflow, and other communities. Conduct talent mapping to uncover niche skillsets and strategic profiles aligned to Handshake AI's needs.

Partner with Recruiters & Hiring Managers:
Collaborate closely with recruiters and engineering stakeholders to understand role requirements, refine search strategies, and align on profile fit.

Candidate Engagement:
Craft thoughtful, tailored outreach messages that reflect Handshake’s mission and technical vision. Manage candidate communication through early stages of the funnel.

Talent Intelligence:
Stay up to date on technical talent trends, the competitive landscape, and sourcing best practices. Provide insights and data to inform recruiting strategy and decision-making.

Pipeline Reporting & Tools:
Track sourcing metrics, outreach conversion rates, and top-of-funnel health using tools like Ashby, Gem, and LinkedIn Recruiter. Contribute to sourcing dashboards and weekly reports.

Candidate Experience:
Deliver a positive and engaging experience to every prospect, even at early touchpoints—helping ensure Handshake is seen as a thoughtful and values-driven team.

Your Experience

Technical Sourcing Experience:
3–5+ years of sourcing experience, ideally focused on Engineering, ML, or Data roles at early- to mid-stage tech companies.

Strong Search & Research Skills:
Proficient in Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub sourcing, and technical platforms. Able to find and engage candidates in specialized or competitive markets.

Close Collaboration with Recruiters:
Experience working as a partner to full-cycle recruiters and hiring managers. Comfortable iterating on search strategies and adjusting based on feedback.

Talent Branding & Outreach:
Skilled in writing compelling cold outreach and positioning technical opportunities in a way that resonates with candidates.

Tools Proficiency:
Comfortable with sourcing tools like Gem, Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter, and spreadsheet-based tracking. Experience using analytics to assess and improve sourcing performance.

Organized & Proactive:
Able to manage multiple searches, keep pipelines moving, and follow up consistently. Strong attention to detail and follow-through.

Communication Skills:
Clear, concise communicator who can represent the Handshake brand and articulate what makes our roles unique and exciting.
