Salary Range: $260,000 - $337,000*

YOU WILL BE:
The Vice President, Compensation is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for designing and executing a cohesive compensation strategy across the Saks Global portfolio of brands. Balancing creativity with analytical rigor, this leader operates as both a strategic architect and pragmatic problem solver—translating business complexity into simple, scalable, and globally aligned pay solutions. The VP ensures compensation programs reinforce performance, profitability, and the company’s commitment to the employee experience.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Lead the global design, governance, and delivery of compensation programs spanning executive, corporate, retail, and global populations
Advise stakeholders on pay philosophy, competitiveness, equity, and compliance
Partner with People Business Partners and business leaders to align compensation with business priorities
Solve complex organizational and market challenges through analytical insight, market best practices and business acumen
Simplify and scale compensation processes, systems, and tools to enable agility and data-driven decision-making
Oversee market intelligence and benchmarking to inform strategic decisions
Build and lead a high-performing team that demonstrates partnership, operational excellence and accountability
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Bachelor’s Degree
12+ years of progressive compensation experience, including leadership of global or enterprise-scale programs
Deep expertise in compensation, job architecture, and incentive design
Proven ability to develop and execute compensation strategies that balance competitiveness, cost management, and internal equity
Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to translate analytics into actionable insights
Exceptional communication and influencing skills; able to present complex concepts to senior executives
Experience managing and developing high-performing teams
Comfortable to work up to 4 days a week in our NYC office
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience advising board level Compensation Committees, including preparing materials, insights, and recommendations
Experience in the luxury retail, fashion, or consumer sectors
Familiarity with Workday or similar HRIS and compensation planning systems
Advanced degree or certification
