The Benefits Analyst plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations and accuracy of Peet’s employee benefit programs within the Workday system. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Benefits & Wellness, this role ensures benefit processes are timely and accurate, supports employee inquiries, and collaborates closely with internal teams and external partners.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administration
- Partner with the benefits team to establish, document, and implement processes in Workday Benefits.
- Manage payroll deductions and adjustments in Workday; audit regularly to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with Payroll to ensure deductions and arrears are processed correctly and on time.
- Support open enrollment by assisting in the implementation of new plans, updates to current programs, and communication development.
- Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and benefits documentation.
- Communicate benefit offerings clearly to employees, including plan details, enrollment timelines, and eligibility.
- Provide additional support for other projects as needed.
Employee Services
- Respond to employee benefit inquiries with accuracy and care.
- Research and resolve benefit issues in partnership with vendors, brokers, and internal teams.
Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate data transmission to benefit vendors (401(k), HSA, FSA, commuter programs).
- Stay informed and support compliance with local benefit ordinances, such as SF HCSO.
- Collect and maintain documentation for qualifying life events in Workday.
Systems & Operations
- Maintain data integrity in the online benefits enrollment system (Workday).
- Partner with HRIT and Benefits to manage enrollment processes, troubleshoot issues, and resolve system errors.
- Develop and run routine and ad hoc Workday reports to support benefits operations.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant benefits experience and/or training.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Experience working with multiple vendor platforms and benefit systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- Workday Benefits experience is strongly preferred.
Peet’s Home Office is a Hybrid worksite, which requires any Home Office employees to work onsite a minimum of 3 days/ week (Emeryville, California).

The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
