Position Overview:
Join a collaborative and forward‑thinking ergonomics team dedicated to creating safer, healthier workplaces. In this role, you will lead both virtual and in‑person ergonomic evaluations, create and deliver engaging individual and group trainings, and actively promote staff and patient safety. You’ll partner with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities, implement innovative injury‑prevention programs, and drive meaningful change. As a trusted team member, you’ll contribute to task forces and committees that support organizational goals and continuous improvement. This role offers variety, impact, and the opportunity to travel to other cities and Sutter Health locations as needed.
Job Description:
This role primarily supports Sutter Health’s North Bay locations, including Santa Rosa and Novato, while also providing support to other sites within the Sutter Health footprint as needed. The position offers a great balance of flexibility and on‑site collaboration, allowing the selected candidate to build strong relationships and make a meaningful impact locally. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance to the North Bay Sutter locations and be available to come on site anywhere as needed for meetings, collaboration, and other in‑person activities.
EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
- Bachelor's: Human Factors/Ergonomics, Safety Sciences, Physical/Occupational Therapy, Occupational Health & Safety or related field
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Ergonomics and People Focus: Demonstrate ergonomics expertise to conduct virtual and in‑person evaluations, create and deliver training, manage cases, and partner with others to influence change and reduce injury risk.
Working knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, ACGIH, and ANSI standards to support a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Pay Range is $47.67 to $71.51 / hour
The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
