About the role

We’re seeking a Head of People to partner directly with the CEO and leadership team to build a strong, high-performing organization that can support our next phase of growth.


This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in startup environments and enjoys building systems from the ground up. You’ll shape our people strategy, strengthen our culture, and create the structures that help our team do their best work — balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.


What you'll do

  • Develop and execute a People and culture strategy aligned with company goals
  • Partner closely with founders and leadership on org design, workforce planning, and talent strategy
  • Drive a high-performance culture, employee engagement and retention, and team effectiveness
  • Own and implement the full talent management lifecycle - from recruiting to onboarding and beyond
  • Build performance management frameworks, feedback cycles, and career development pathways, including compensation philosophy, benchmarking, and leveling structures
  • Ensure compliant HR practices across Company locations and Implement and optimize HR systems, processes, and policies
  • Health and fringe benefits selection, administration, and vendor relationships
  • Support employee relations matters with the utmost discretion, fairness, and consistency
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and leadership support as the People organization expands


Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of experience in People/HR roles at high-growth startups, including at least 2 years in a leadership position
  • Experience owning or building the People function at a high-growth startup (ideally Series A–C)
  • Experience in a high-growth startup or tech environment strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law
  • Experience building People processes from the ground up
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
  • Sound judgment and professionalism in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to move fluidly between strategy and execution
  • Willingness and ability to contribute to other areas of business operations as company needs evolve
  • No ego, player-coach mentality - You will only have a very small team to work with to start off, so individual contributor work and execution will be required
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) are a bonus
