Overview

Avanath is a real estate private equity firm focused on preserving affordable housing across the United States. The firm owns and manages over 15,000 apartment units across three investment funds and oversees investments on behalf of large institutional pension funds, retirement systems, endowments, and other investors.

The Role

The HR Administrator is a key member of the Human Resources team, responsible for supporting the day-to-day execution of HR operations with a strong emphasis on HR systems, data integrity, and employee lifecycle processes.

Reporting directly to the EVP of Human Resources, this role ensures that HR data, processes, and systems are accurate, consistent, and efficiently maintained across the organization. The HR Administrator plays a critical role in supporting onboarding, employee changes, reporting, compliance tracking, and general HR operational support.

This position partners closely with HR leadership, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and operational leaders to ensure seamless and high-quality employee experience supported by strong HR infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 2–4+ years of experience in HR administration, HR operations, or HRIS support
  • Experience supporting multi-site or operational organizations (e.g., property management, real estate, hospitality, or similar industries)
  • Experience working with HR systems (ADP or similar HRIS platforms strongly preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
  • Solid understanding of HR processes, compliance requirements, and employee lifecycle activities
  • Strong attention to detail with high standards for accuracy and data integrity
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Experience supporting onboarding, terminations, and HR recordkeeping preferred

Key Accountabilities

  • HR Systems & Data Administration
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within the HRIS
    • Process employee lifecycle transactions including hires, changes, promotions, and terminations
    • Ensure data integrity across HR systems and perform regular audits to identify and correct discrepancies
    • Support system updates, testing, and troubleshooting as needed
  • HR Operations Support
    • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth and consistent employee experience
    • Prepare and maintain employee documentation, including offer letters and personnel files
    • Support HR workflow processes such as job changes, organizational updates, and status changes
    • Ensure HR processes are executed in alignment with company policies and applicable regulations
  • Reporting & Data Support
    • Generate standard and ad hoc HR reports and dashboards as requested by HR leadership
    • Assist in tracking key HR metrics such as headcount, turnover, and hiring activity
    • Support data validation and reconciliation across HR systems and reports
    • Provide accurate and timely information to support HR decision-making
  • Compliance & Recordkeeping
    • Maintain accurate and audit-ready employee records and documentation
    • Support internal and external audit requests with timely and accurate data
    • Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
    • Support proper retention and organization of HR documentation
  • Process Improvement & Project Support
    • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, workflows, and system efficiency
    • Support HR initiatives including system enhancements, transitions, and organizational updates
    • Assist with special projects and reporting needs for the EVP of Human Resources
  • Cross-Functional HR Support
    • Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate employee data and payroll processing
    • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to support onboarding and hiring workflows
    • Respond to HR-related inquiries from employees and managers in a timely and professional manner

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and system navigation
  • Regular interaction with employees, managers, and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to read and interpret data on screens, reports, and documents
  • Occasional movement within the office environment
  • Minimal physical lifting or manual labor required
