BUILT ON FLAVOR.  FUELED BY PEOPLE.

What’s it like to work at Kinder’s? Well, there’s a lot of snacking and geeking out over what we all cooked over the weekend. Beyond that, there’s also plenty of hard work. Because we don’t just like flavor, we’re obsessed with it.

With over 100 products sold nationwide, we’re now a top-five brand in multiple flavor categories at Costco, Walmart, Whole Foods, and more. We’re not your typical CPG company. Privately held and founder-led, we like to think of ourselves as a pirate ship in a sea of cruise ships. Our crew is adventurous and fearless. We chart our own course and chase big ideas to make food unforgettable.

As we expand globally and approach $1 billion in revenue, we need more smart-and-scrappy, flavor-obsessed people to come aboard. If you’re looking for a place where you can see the real impact of your work... this is it! Every day, you’ll be part of a journey to add flavor to millions of meals and lives.

As a People Business Partner at Kinder’s, you will play a key role in enabling our people and our business to thrive. Acting as a strategic advisor, trusted coach, and hands-on problem solver, you will partner closely with leaders across functions to align our people strategies with Kinder’s bold growth goals. You’ll help shape the culture and capabilities needed for our next chapter, one that builds on our legacy while scaling for the future.

This is a high-impact, full-spectrum role, equal parts strategic and operational. You’ll be just as comfortable advising executives on team design as you are rolling up your sleeves to coach a first-time manager, lead an onboarding session, or manage a talent process. Your work will directly influence how we grow while preserving what makes Kinder’s special: our values, our people, and our entrepreneurial energy.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Strategic Partnership & Business Alignment

  • Partner with business leaders to define and execute people strategies that support growth, transformation, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as a thought partner on org design, workforce planning, and succession strategies.
  • Translate business goals into talent priorities that strengthen team performance, engagement, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with the Director and EVP of People & Culture to co-lead and operationalize initiatives aligned with Kinder’s cultural principles and scaling needs.

Hands-On People Support

  • Deliver end-to-end people support for business units—from onboarding and performance management to employee relations and internal communication.
  • Serve as a steady, empathetic resource for employees, providing guidance on development, feedback, and day-to-day team dynamics.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to enhance hiring processes and candidate experience, including interview logistics, planning, and onboarding readiness.

Culture & Values Stewardship

  • Actively champion and model Kinder’s values—humility, collaboration, innovation, results, curiosity, and integrity—in every interaction.
  • Embed equity, belonging, and clarity into policies, communications, and everyday experiences.
  • Identify and address cultural opportunities and friction points as we evolve and scale.

Leadership Development & Talent Growth

  • Coach managers on effective leadership behaviors, feedback, team development, and performance enablement.
  • Partner with leaders to identify, develop, and retain high-potential talent.
  • Support learning and development efforts that promote continuous growth and operational readiness.

Organizational Health & Effectiveness

  • Facilitate organizational effectiveness by supporting team health assessments, structure reviews, and realignment efforts.
  • Lead the local execution of core People programs (e.g., performance management, engagement surveys, competency reviews) with discipline, clarity, and care.
  • Monitor and elevate employee sentiment and team dynamics to inform action planning.

Change Leadership & Communication

  • Help teams and leaders navigate ambiguity, growth, and transformation through proactive communication and alignment.
  • Serve as a steadying influence during change, supporting resilience and clarity across functions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with leaders across departments to drive shared ownership of people outcomes.
  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, People Operations, and Learning teams to deliver holistic, seamless employee experiences.

Skills + Experience:

  • 5–8+ years of experience in a People Business Partner or HR Business Partner / Generalist role within a high-growth, fast-paced environment (CPG or adjacent industry a plus).
  • Proven ability to flex between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
  • Experience supporting leadership teams through periods of scaling, transformation, or cultural change.
  • Deep emotional intelligence and coaching capability across levels—from ICs to senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated success driving engagement, feedback culture, and team development.
  • Strong project management skills and operational follow-through.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and change, able to create structure where needed and adapt quickly.
  • A grounded passion for people, culture, and enabling teams to do their best work.

The position will be based out of our office in Walnut Creek, with the requirement of being in the office Monday - Friday.

Pay Transparency:

The expected starting salary range for this role is $125,000 - $140,000 per year + Annual Bonus + Equity. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on the location of the role. Benefits include Medical / Rx, Dental, Vision, 401K + Match, Commuter Benefit, EAP, etc.

SEASONED FOR SUCCESS:

  • No two days here are the same.
  • We try to be good team members and good communicators, but we don’t live by hierarchy and structure – everyone is a difference maker here.
  • We make a lot of decisions in the face of incomplete information – our team embraces ambiguity and tries to make good decisions fast rather than great decisions slow.
  • We believe our job is to take smart risk, not to eliminate risk.
  • We believe in growing our skills and becoming a better company with more managerial expertise, but we are an entrepreneurial company at heart.
  • We aren’t trying to be average – we want to do exceptional things, and we are willing to work hard to achieve them.

BENEFITS THAT BRING MORE TO THE TABLE:

We offer a range of total rewards that may include paid time off, 401k, bonus / incentive eligibility, equity grants, competitive health benefits, and other family-friendly benefits, including parental leave. Kinder’s benefits vary based on eligibility and can be reviewed in more detail during the interview process.

OUR RECIPE FOR BALANCE:

We believe great culture starts with people. We’re a people-first company built on connection, collaboration, and balance. Most of our work happens in the office to spark creativity and community, but we also offer flexibility so team members have the autonomy to work outside the office when needed to support their work-life balance and personal commitments.
