THE OPPORTUNITY
The HR Assistant/Recruiter is a critical contributor to the success of our agency’s mission to end homelessness. As part of the HR team, this position will provide administrative HR support for the functioning of the department with an emphasis on recruitment. Reporting to the Recruiter Administrator, this position is primarily tasked with sourcing and attracting talent and facilitating the hiring process.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This role reports to the Recruiter Administrator.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process full cycle recruiting: maintain personnel requisitions/edit and post job descriptions, prepare offer letters, process new hires/on-boarding, including pre-employment testing (background checks, TB tests, etc.)
Sourcing and attracting candidates by using databases, social media, job fairs, and other methods
Screening and interviewing candidates for open positions
Assessing candidates' skills, qualifications, and fit for the role and the company
Communicating necessary information to candidates and hiring managers
Managing background and reference checks, paperwork, and employment law compliance
Tracking staffing information and metrics
Facilitate new hire orientations, including maintaining new hire packets and documents
Maintain employee records and tracking for TB testing, trainings, certificates/licenses, I-9s/E-Verify, etc.
Process Authorized Drivers, including reviewing and maintaining Driver documents and DMV Employer Pull Notice program
Assist/guide supervisors and employees with HR questions/processes
Review and process employee status changes for eligibility and position requirements; update employee data as needed
Assist with correspondence, record-keeping, file set-up and maintenance, and other office tasks
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
