We are looking for a Recruiting Leader with 4+ years of experience to be the first dedicated recruiting hire at Black Ore, a $60M-funded vertical AI company automating tax preparation for CPAs. You'll own full-cycle recruiting across technical and go-to-market roles as the sole recruiter for 12+ months, building the hiring engine from scratch while maintaining an exceptionally high quality bar.
What will you be doing?
Running full-cycle recruiting end-to-end (~60% technical, ~40% go-to-market) at a pace of roughly 1-2 hires per month
Sourcing, screening, and closing candidates personally β€” no sourcers, coordinators, or IC recruiters to delegate to
Partnering with the CEO, CTO, and VP of Sales to calibrate on hiring bar and candidate profiles for roles like Applied AI, Full Stack Tech Lead, AEs, SDRs, and post-sales
Building recruiting workflows, tooling, and infrastructure that will scale the company from ~50 to 100+ employees
Acting as a true Swiss army knife operator who deeply understands the business and treats every hire as a quality-over-quantity decision
4+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience with a strong technical hiring focus (engineering, AI/ML, product)
Prior experience at a high-growth startup β€” must have actually built technical teams at an early or growth-stage company
Hands-on executor who is genuinely excited to be the sole recruiter doing all the work for 12+ months (not someone itching to build and manage a team)
Based in Austin, TX or New York City β€” no relocation candidates
