Location: Foster City Office

This is a hybrid position, currently requiring office work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with reliable internet required for remote work. 

Senior People Operations Manager

The Senior People Operations Manager leads day-to-day HR operations across the employee lifecycle, ensuring systems, processes, and programs are compliant, efficient, intuitive, and employee-centered. This role drives key priorities—including compliance, systems optimization, reporting accuracy, and operational consistency—while serving as the primary driver of core HR operations. The position partners closely with People Business Partners, Talent, Payroll, and system vendors to deliver timely, accurate, and scalable People Operations

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and improve core People Operations processes, systems usage, and data accuracy
  • Ensure consistent execution across HRIS, payroll, benefits, and related systems.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex employee operations issues and mentor teams in problem-solving.
  • Map, document, and optimize end-to-end People Ops workflows for scalability and efficiency.
  • Establish SOPs, clear handoffs, and operational rhythms to support consistency and onboarding.
  • Maintain ownership of People compliance programs and ensure audit-ready tracking and reporting.
  • Act as product owner for People systems, ensuring data integrity and effective cross-system integrations.
  • Deliver accurate, user-friendly reporting and drive process improvements that reduce manual work.
  • Lead and develop People Operations team members while managing workload and peak-period capacity.
  • Partner cross-functionally to support organizational changes, new initiatives, and operational readiness.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Experience in nonprofit, housing, property management, or highly regulated environments.
  • Hands-on experience with ADP and multistate compliance.
  • Change management leadership experience during People Team or systems transformation.

Education and Experience

  • 7+ years of progressive HR or People Operations experience, including ownership of complex operational processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of HR compliance, payroll and benefits administration, and HRIS systems.
  • Experience managing People Operations staff or leading operational workflows.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • High attention to detail paired with strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.

Pay Range $177,000 - $182,000 Annual Salary - Pay based on applicable experience and qualifications

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
