This role is a senior-level leadership position supporting a federal healthcare quality improvement initiative focused on advancing care for women Veterans across the VA healthcare system. You will serve as a key subject matter expert on VA Medical Center and VISN operations, providing strategic guidance that shapes program direction, quality frameworks, and system-wide improvement efforts. Acting as Team Lead, you will coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, synthesize complex healthcare performance data, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for VA leadership. The position requires deep familiarity with VA governance, clinical operations, and women’s health programs, along with the ability to operate effectively in highly structured federal environments. You will also mentor internal teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables aligned with federal standards and contractual requirements. Accountabilities:
- Serve as Team Lead and executive-level Subject Matter Expert on VA Medical Center and VISN operations, guiding strategy and execution for the Women Veterans Quality Improvement Project (WV-QIP).
- Lead the development and implementation of quality improvement frameworks, tools, and methodologies aligned with VA women’s health policies and clinical standards.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions, including meetings, workshops, and briefings with VA leadership, clinical teams, and contracting personnel.
- Analyze and synthesize performance data, site visit findings, and gap assessments to produce actionable reports and executive-level recommendations.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to project team members, ensuring high-quality outputs and compliance with federal requirements and deliverable standards.
- Monitor project timelines, risks, and performance metrics, proactively escalating issues and proposing mitigation strategies to VA stakeholders and leadership.
- Ensure alignment of all project activities with VA organizational structure, governance models, and healthcare delivery systems.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare administration within the VA healthcare system.
- Prior experience in senior executive roles such as VA Medical Center Director or VISN Network Director strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Deep, hands-on experience with VA healthcare operations, including governance structures, clinical workflows, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams in federal government or contracting environments.
- Strong ability to produce executive-level deliverables, including reports, briefings, and strategic recommendations.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation skills in complex matrixed environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret healthcare performance data and translate findings into actionable improvements.
- Must be eligible for VA facility access credentials and meet all federal security and background requirements.
